Stage & Film Lighting
Lights, camera, action! A large manufacturer of professional motion picture equipment had already qualified a competitor’s product for a new model in their wide range of stage and film lighting. However, Artesyn’s LCC600 series conduction-cooled AC-DC power supply was a closer fit to the customer’s requirements and was more cost-effective than the part originally selected. The LCC600 series fanless power supplies incorporate a thermal baseplate for conduction cooling and can deliver full output power over a wide operating temperature range of -40 to 85˚C. A constant current mode is provided for LED /horticultural lighting and the series features an I2C communication interface compliant to the PMBus® specification for remote set-up and monitoring. With a rapid modification to fit a custom connector and customer-completed approvals for the lighting industry, this customer is now illuminating silver screen spectacles and stage extravaganzas all over the world.
Multiscreen IP Streaming
The whole family gathering around a television to watch the same show is a rare occurrence these days. The way we consume video is changing from a model based on linear broadcast with fixed screens in our homes to an on-demand and interactive experience delivered to any device anywhere. This shift to multiscreen and over-the-top (OTT) services requires many different types of equipment in broadcast, wireline and wireless telecom networks. When a market-leader in IP streaming solutions was looking for a DC-input server-type power supply, the company selected Artesyn’s DS1100TDC bulk front end power supply. This 1100 W unit accepts a wide range -40 to -72 Vdc input and provides a main 12 V output plus a 3.3 V standby output. Housed in an industry standard 1U x 2.1 inch rack-mounting package, the power supply is ideal for space-constrained applications.
One of the world’s largest suppliers of gaming technology to casinos and other entertainment venues was facing challenges with the electromagnetic interference (EMI) from the power supply selected for one of its next generation electronic slot machines. Thanks to outstanding pre-sales technical support, the customer quickly selected and tested the LCM600 series AC-DC power supply to replace the competitor’s unit. Artesyn’s LCM series offers a very cost-effective, single-output bulk front-end power solution with the added benefit of digital control, which enables us to rapidly modify them to suit a customer’s exact specifications.
Toll roads are becoming more commonplace on today’s busy road networks and they require reliable and low maintenance power supplies. When a manufacturer of toll road systems needed a suitable power supply, Artesyn’s LCC250 series proved to be the perfect solution. This AC-DC power supply is fully-enclosed with IP64 protection against the ingress of dust and water, making it ideal for applications such as toll road systems, outdoor signage and telecom installations. The power supplies are fanless which minimizes dust and provides a low maintenance product. The baseplate provides a conduction cooling and the LCC series has a wide operating temperature, making it suitable for use in varying weathers.

A leading prime contractor and integrator of sonar, acoustic and communications systems needed more power for the RF amplifiers in its latest naval sonar system as it evolves to deal with ever-changing threats. Artesyn’s new iHP series configurable precision high power AC-DC system is ideal to provide the 400 Vdc at 112 amps needed by this customer. It provides high accuracy, resolution and stability as either a voltage or current source with up to 24 kW in 3kW increments and can be configured for up to 8 outputs using a wide variety of plug-in modules that address a large range of voltages and currents.
