The AVO240 series eighth-brick isolated DC-DC converter is designed specifically to provide a regulated low noise 12 Vdc output for feeding downstream non-isolated point-of-load (POL) converters in systems with distributed power architectures (DPA). Rated at 240 watts, it can deliver up to 20 amps. The converter has a wide input range of 41 to 75 Vdc and is designed primarily for use with standard 48 V telecommunications equipment supplies.

The converter has a typical efficiency of 94% and accommodates an ambient operating temperature range of -40 to 85˚C. Its open-frame design is optimized for forced air or conduction cooling and an aluminum baseplate option is available for enhanced thermal performance. The conversion technology employs 150 kHz fixed frequency switching to help minimize external EMI filtering requirements.

Standard features include output trim, remote enable, undervoltage lockout and differential remote sense, with non-latching overvoltage and overtemperature protection. AVO240 series converters have an installed height of just 0.39 inch (10 mm), making them ideal for systems with demanding inter-board spacing requirements.
