72–198 Watt Half-Brick Isolated DC-DC Converters
The AVE300 series of half-brick isolated DC-DC converters comprises five single output models, offering fully regulated voltages of 1.2 V, 1.5 V, 1.8 V, 2.5 V or 3.3 V. Each model can deliver up to 60 amps output current. All five converters accept a wide 2:1 input range of 36 to 75 Vdc and are designed primarily for use with standard 48 V telecommunications equipment supplies.
All AVE300 series converters accommodate an ambient operating temperature range of -40 to 85˚C and can continue delivering full power up to a baseplate temperature of 100˚C. The output voltage can be trimmed from 80% to 110% of nominal and there is no minimum load requirement. The conversion technology provides up to 92.5% efficiency at full load, depending on the model, and uses fixed-frequency switching to help minimize external EMI filtering requirements.
Based on a high power density open-frame design that that is optimized for forced air or conduction cooling, the converters can be equipped with an optional aluminum thermal baseplate for enhanced thermal performance. They have an installed height of just 0.37 inch (9.5 mm), or 0.5 inch (12.7 mm) for the baseplate versions, and are ideal for systems with demanding inter-board spacing requirements.
Standard features include input undervoltage lockout, differential remote sense and remote On/Off, as well as comprehensive protection against overtemperature and output overcurrent or overvoltage conditions.
