Field Applications Engineer

REPORTS TO: VP, Global Technical Support


Job Description and Responsibilities:

  1. Experienced power electronic engineer possessing strong technical and interpersonal skills to support the adoption of Artesyn power solutions to the targeted customers in the Pacific Northwest
  2. Be part of a cross functional team including Sales, Engineering, Marketing and Operations to support the customer and act as a technical liaison between customers and internal teams
  3. Should be equally comfortable working with all levels of a customer, from bench level debugging, rework/reprogram PSUs to presenting solution to customer’s technical team
  4. Responsible for working at customer’s qualification lab to support all phases of system qualification of Artesyn standard and custom products
  5. Must have knowledge of digital communication bus such as i2C bus and firmware reloading/rebooting experience
  6. As a trusted customer advocate, he/she must have the confidence and persuasive skills to earn the respect of engineering leaders both internally and with the customer
  7. Proven fixer – able to drive issues to resolution with a sense of urgency
  8. Tireless, Driven, Relentless
  9. Part of the North America and Global Technical Support team. Collaborate and assist other FAEs and Technical Support Engineers in North America and Globally on common customer programs and issues
  10. Willingness to travel locally (Pacific Northwest) and minimum 1 domestic trip (US and Canada) per quarter and 1 international trip per year 


  1. 3+ years’ design/application experience in power supply and/or other power electronic products
  2. Working experience with digital communication bus such as i2C bus and PMBus
  3. Strong verbal and written communication skills
  4. Demonstrated ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly
  5. Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering with an electronic engineering background
